Spook Amigurumi

A crochet amigurumi (stuffed animal) commission with a light up tail. Spook is an original fantasy creature character belonging to the client. His tail is made up of several floating “chunks”, as if it had been cut up but still magically suspends itself as if it were still intact, and its orange tip glows in the dark.
Design
Spook was a fun challenge to attempt to recreate. I crocheted around a 10mm orange LED, running stiff solid-core wire through the center of his tail pieces and through the torso like a spine. I sewed the two sides of a metal snap on each of his paws to make a switch for the LED. I used a combination of stripped wire and conductive thread to create a battery pouch for a CR2032 coin cell battery, hidden on his belly like a little kangaroo pouch.
